Emma originally began her professional life as an actress working in Film, TV and theatre. Wanting to expand her tool bag she trained as a drama, movement therapist and spent several years working in a variety of different client settings. During her time as a therapist she also began to work as a free-lance actor-facilitator for several drama based training companies. Using various drama tools such as role-play and form theatre, areas such as diversity, management, recruitment, assessment and training have been covered, focusing mainly on human behaviours.
In the past 5 years Emma’s focus has been on the art of improvisation. How out of the accidental truth of being human we can draw inventive material that liberates our natural creative potential. These skills have been applied to Directing, and in 2008- 2009 the original work The Art of Catastrophe received a 5 star review in three weeks and went onto to tour in the U.K.
With the ever-changing world, and with companies having to re-access how to grow within this change in economics and trends, Emma can see how the skills in improvising and the tools to liberate creative resources are perfect for the application of change in organisations.
Currently Emma is also a performing arts lecturer at Sussex Downs College.
